FIRST UPDATE! How Cool is that!? No..? Okay well it's cool for me. I've never written one before.
Devlog: "Til Death Do Us Part" – Now With Fewer Bugs and More Hammer Enthusiasm
First off, a massive thank you to everyone who played Til Death Do Us Part, left feedback and generally put up with Mjölnir's chaotic antics. Your comments have been really helpful, and it's been pretty damn cool seeing people enjoy our absurd little hammer-fueled adventure.
We'd also like to give a warm welcome to AidenBlackwater, who has joined the team as our resident coding wizard and overall problem-fixer. Without him, the Game would still be a beautiful, bug-ridden mess where Mjölnir yeets itself after into the void for eternity. He's been an absolute hero in making things actually work, and we're only slightly concerned that he might now hate hammers.
Changes We've Made (Yes, We Fixed Things - And when we say we... we mean Aiden).
✔ Boost mechanic removed – because, in hindsight, trying to control a hammer moving at warp speed was probably a bit much.
✔ The camera is now fixed and zoomed out – so you can actually see where you're going. Revolutionary, we know. We won't patent it like a nemasis system etc though. We aren't pieces of shit like that.
✔ The background now animates properly – as was originally intended, rather than sitting there looking awkward.
✔ UI has been updated – now with more useful information (to be honest, any information would have been more information but let us have this. :p
✔ Mjölnir now has more personality – because every sentient weapon needs a little more pshycosis.
✔ Added a speedometer – so you can visibly see how much destruction you're causing. Goes up when you obliterate enemies and drops when you crash like an amateur.
✔ Movement feels way better – Mjölnir now actually turns front-first instead of whatever it was doing before.
✔ Fixed hitboxes – because running headfirst into obstacles that you technically weren't touching was dumb.
✔ New boss enemy added – which actually needs a certain speed to be defeated.
✔ Game now properly ends – defeating the boss correctly triggers the game completion screen instead of sending you into the infinite abyss (although I used to do this to listen to the music for longer).
Where Do We Go From Here?
At this point, we think we're leaving Til Death Do Us Part as it is, at least for now. It's more functional, fun, and no longer actively trying to break itself like a 14-year-old emo after a minor inconvenience, which is a win in our book.
However, if enough people want us to expand it, we'd be happy to revisit it—maybe add a proper story, build a full first level, and flesh out the chaos even further. If that sounds like something you'd want, let us know in the comments. Otherwise, we'll leave Mjölnir to enjoy its well-earned rest (until Thor loses it again).
Thanks again for playing, and as always—try not to crash into things (unless it's alive... Murderer).
